I've got a 3 gauge din plate 4 a nice clean OEM look. Also doesn't attract unwanted attention to your car having them in a din slot. A mate has a boost gauge in his driver's airvent that's another option. Or u could get the steering rack mount
I have that swg motor sport one.
Quite clever as he modifies an OEM vent. Looks quite good IMO, and doesn't obstruct the dash view. His support was quite good as well when the original gauge he sent me died.
Hey guys i stole the SWG motorsport idea and took to my spare Vent with a Heated knife..
at which point i installed my New South Performance Gauge! this is a old post from my Forum so excuse it but i have just C&P'd for your information
I can highly reccoment the NSP gauges.. i think imho they are the nicest of the lot! and a very very close match!

Well finally found a Perfect match guage for my car that has proper EL Lighting in "Indigo" colouring and a similar font..
So I had to decide where to put it so it didnt stick out to much and didnt get in the way to much
So after seeing Vent side pods for sale on the net i thought hmm ill do that and buy one..
After falling over at the price of 260 New Zealand Dollars Landed i thought Flip that idea ill make my own
So I tootled of down to a Reputable VW Parts dealer "Platinum VW Spares" and purchased myself a Surround and Vent for the Driver Side
Measured out how I wanted to put the Guage in where I wanted it and how i wanted to sit grabbed a sharp but old knife and grabbed my propane blow torch and melted out the where I wanted the Guage to Seat
worked a treat here are the results
The 42DD gauges are utter**** and have been a complete let down they ****ed up FIZZ's order 3 TIMES!!!! and the illumination wasnt what they claimed it to be
the NSP and SWG gauges have nice even illumination!

I like this idea!!! Loks like a pretty neat finish too. I might atempt to give this a go...

sorry guys it was midnight and i thought i mentioned it
its a NSP gauge
they have more versions of the gauges coming becoming available soon..
(they wouldnt give me a release date as its not their policy)
but i will be running a 42DD Brushed Alloy Din 3 gauge and will look at running Oil Press, Voltage and something else!
I forgot to mention with modifying the Vent you have to cut a substantial part out of the back of it (but not the open close thing) also i think i had to cut away a bit of the dash from memory.. but it was more just excess plastic you would never use or miss..
i made the set up in about an hour.. ill try and get some photos of what i had to cut and post em up..
its a little crude.. but if you have a spare vent then you have nothing to worry about!
(oh the vent could open and close too! (ie block/allow airflow) you just couldnt change direction of the airflow.. but thats ok. cos the gauge still directs enough to the driver any way! )
Sorry about my crude mods.. but sometimes they are so effective you get over a little bit of cutting plastic!
