Nice I've give that a go tomorrow morning and also check for any vac leaks. When I was reading a lot of threads said that you need VAG-COM to realign the throttle body? I don't have it, but I thought that it was align itself?

If you turn the ignition on and don't start the car, it'll hum and buzz. Takes about a minute all up. You can force it with VCDS.

Likely to be a leak somewhere.

Cleaned throttle body today. Seemed to have fixed my bouncing idle about 95 percent. Throttle body was pretty darn dirty. Definately worth the 20 minutes to whip it out and clean it!
