Any ideas what the tranny oil temp should get to? I took it hit a 30km run @ 110 km in the evening and it got to 70 degc ? Didn't seem to go any higher ( maybe in a warmer day)
Ideal temperature for checking the level is in the mid-30s off the top of my head.
I wouldn't expect it to get very hot in normal operating temperatures. I'm sure if you tried, you could force it to go a lot higher, but I recommend that you don't
Yes that's the temp for checking the level, as if it was to be hotter it would expand and give a falls reading, but after a good drive you would expect temps to get higher right? I'm just concerned that I don't a thusly know the correct operating temp under normal driving conditions. I'm about to do a 3k km road trip, surly if it was too hot I would have got an error in vag com?
If it's got a temperature sensor, the transmission control unit would have set parameters for it to work within. Anything outside of that would log a code, I would say.
