gearbox golf gti

do all 02j gearboxes fit the gti or do they need to have the same transaxle code?
I have a 03 golf gti and the transaxle code is evs.

Hi, are you trying to find a replacement box? My 03 munched the first box - EVS as well. Replaced it with the same code box but it had lower km
