Strange Ticking Noise :S

Hey Guys,

Yesterday on the highway I noticed this strange ticka-ticka-ticka-ticka noise coming from the outside on the passenger noise. I've been noticing it most on the highway/motorway, and it seems to get faster or slower depending on my speed.
Doesn't seem to be any noise at all on the driver's side. I can't tell whether it is coming from the front or rear. It's not very loud, it can just be heard over the wind buffeting noise when the windows are down and I can't hear it with the windows up.

Any ideas what it could be?

I would have a look at your tyres. you may have a rock or metal debris stuck in your tyre. Had it before with screw wedged in and holding the tyre pressure quite ok, just making the ticking noise.

I'm hoping it's just a rock in the tyre, as I've already replaced the fronts due to irreparable punctures
But I'll be checking later tonight

Could also be something floating around inside the tyre (like the old valve head cut off)

Id go with the screw or rock or something in the tyre.

So there are no screws or rocks or nails or strange leaves/sticks in the left hand side of the vehicle.
However below are two videos that show noises.

The first one is a clicking from some pump looking thing under the engine: anyone know what it is? Or how to stop it making the noise?
The second video is of the noise while driving: it's only really audible towards the end, and is quite faint unfortunately






Anyone got any more ideas after this?

Have that same ticking noise in the same spot on my car. Can't hear when the bonnets down though

Exactly! same as mine, only hear it when bonnet is up. Unless that noise is also the noise when driving...

Its the solenoid on the carbon canister, as far as I know its nothing to worry about. Mine does it as'well.

So it is probably completely unrelated to the other ticking noise I hear while driving???

Damn, I didn't hear any ticking this morning but was driving in traffic so no real chance to see if it was still there. I'll listen for it again on the way home. It's so confusing because it sounds a leaf stuck between wheel spokes or something but there is nothing anywhere near the wheels on that side of the car

I've had the same thing funnily enough, had combed the tyres and there were no stones in there.
