  • HID's

I fitted HID's to my car a while back and one of my ballasts has just sh*t itself. Anybody have any idea where i can get one in TAS or VIC (or cheap postage). Its a 85V/35W RMS output.
The part number is LBM-HID-012003. Its for a H7 bulb.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It might be cheaper to just buy a new hid kit.

Pull the silly HIDs and go back to stock lights, you will stop blinding people and comply to the laws of the road also.

I'm sorry but have you seen my car? Unlike every other d*ck with HID's I actually bought proper projectors instead of the fitting HID bulbs to normal reflector lenses. I also made sure they were aimed at the correct angle so as not to blind anyone going the opposite way. These lights are far safer than the ones I had because I can actually see where I'm going on dark country roads in Tasmania. I have never been flashed by anyone to say they are too bright and I have driven opposite to friends in low cars and not a single one of them has ever said that they were blinded in any way. I am actually aware of how bright these lights are prior to buying them because I did do some research so I went over the top to make sure mine wouldn't cause a problem to other road users. I have sat behind police cars on the freeway in Victoria and as far as I'm concerned, if they dont pull me over and ask about the aftermarket headlights and why they are blinding people, they aren't blinding people. Especially with how strict the Victorian police are with P platers.

Every trip longer than 1km which at the moment isn't very often because I'm flat out living on campus at uni n just drive to the supermarket. I still give them a decent clean once a week even if I haven't driven it at all, and before and every trip in the dark.

Maybe you are the only one with non blinding hids. I'm yet to see a set that don't vibrate and spray glary light all over the place. At the end of the day if they dont meet adr then should not be used. Even jcar state not legal for road use.
Have you contacted the manufacturer? Most decent products have extensive parts networks.

There are plenty of cars with decent HID lights. Just need to spend the money to get good quality units. Also padding out where the unit sits helps to prevent the lights bouncing and vibrating around. Don't worry, I've taken the time and put in the effort to make these lights as problem free as possible because I agree with you, there's nothing worse than a w*nker with blinding lights on a dark road. Personally I think they would do better to stop the cars with the driving/fog (whatever you want to call them) lights on. Especially in the wet when it all reflects off the road.

No mattter what you do it doesnt make them legal without levellers at the very least.

Yes if you could that would be great, Thanks.

The levellers just adjust the lights down when there is weight in the rear of the car, my lights are already adjusted down to compensate for that on a day to day level, when i load up to go home from uni I check where they are aimed and adjust if i need to. Don't worry, I'm not an idiot with them, I know how bright they are and how dangerous that would be if it was in your face.

the sellers name is "pointblankauto" and looks like he still has the same kits.
this is the link for the 6000k kit - http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=190368776397

The lights aren't blinding at all unless you point them all the way up, I just got my lights levelled by the mechanic and keep the little level adjuster on 2 all the time.
