  • VW Golf 1.6L BFQ engine - help to identify part please

I installed the new all in one coolant flange/thermostat part today on the 1.6L golf, but in the process I broke off this tiny part on a 4 way coolant pipe connector.

Could someone help me identify what the part number is? Or if someone has one spare?

    Pictures below:

This first picture shows the pipe going from the reservoir to the front of the engine where it meets up with 3 other pipes.

Next picture is where is a close up of where all 4 pipes meet (I've taken out the part)

And lastly here is the part (I broke off the hose connector for the top small pipe):

This is available separate from VW parts, not that dear, don't feel bad its common, they all go brittle, if I was you I would also change the one that's similar at the firewall that connects to the heater core, it does the same, someone should bring out a refresh kit with these items.

Thanks Jmac, Ill take the photos I've taken into VW parts and get them to order it in.

The other part your talking about is that a 3 way pipe connector? (T piece?)

The engines are a minefield of brittle plastic once they hit 200k.

Went to VW spare parts today... ETKA always seem to confuse the **** out of the parts guys.

I gave them that part number, and they go, the part exists, but is not applicable to you car ... LOL...

Soooo can I just order it anyway? ...Yep I know you just said its not applicable... , just order it.

$22 from VW if anyone wants to know.

              Odd.

The outdated VagCat version of Etka shows it up. Part number brings up images of the correct part when you search it on Ebay. Yet, the current bootlegged version of Etka I just tried to look it up on, drew a blank.

                I know, its very strange.

This is what he was looking at and sure enough the part is not the same. I mean the picture even looks closer than the one you posted as it depicts the all-in-one thermostat/temp sensor housing. ... but then it goes off to some part that is similar to what is on my car ? but not...
