Thanks mate. You inspired the CAI after hearing yours. I hope mine sounds half as good as yours!

      • Gogo CAI. Just something else that's on my list of things to help deplete my pay check.
So what's the deal Neil? Do we have a timeframe for BBS awesomeness install yet?

        • Just got the CAI on - it sounds awesome especially with the new APR DV. I need to get another clamp to help secure it all properly but am very happy with it.

The BBS will be on in due course. Next thing to be done is get some adapters to help fill the massive offset and change to Maserati stud pattern.

            • I should be. I got a few bits to run around in the morning but I should be over in the arvo to say g'day.

I'm off to see Neales wheels tomorrow. I'll tell you all more then.

Quick update: Neales wheels were pretty useless - I'm curious to know why the come so recomended by so many people. But the show must go on...

I droped off my wheels to get measurements all drawn up and the adaptors are on their way. It'll probably be 2 weeks before I get them but there is still a fair bit of work to be done between now and then. I need to get my guards rolled and I also need to get 2 tyres for one the fronts.

Some qutoes I've had so far for the two front tyres 215/35/19:

                    NANKANG $190
                    KUMHO $220
                    BFG G Force $365.00
                    DUNLOP SPT MAXX $415.00
                    PIRELLI DRAGON $455.00
                    PIRELLI NERO $470.00

I'm thinking I might stick with the Pirellis at the moment but has anyone tried some of the earlier ones with stretch? Keen to hear some feedback.

Also, I've made a few other additions yesterday but I am yet to take some photos. Some of you may remember me getting one of those plastic hood extensions plus a black grill. Well they are on the car now just to give the front a slight face lift. I still want to do the Bora front so this should keep me happy untill that day comes. I must say - it realy does transform the front of the car for such a cheap mod. ($250 roughly I think painted).

I'm also sporting blue LED's replacement globes in my interior too.

                      • Get some quotes on the Goodyear Eagle F1's. i understand theyve won more performance awards than any other tyre around.

i recently purchased some 245/35/19's and they were only around $300 each, so for 215's you should be able to save a bit more.

Check also, Goodyear do a once a year sale where you can buy 3 tyres and get the 4th one free. (if your timing is lucky)

they also offer a pro-rated tyre insurance policy at around $7/tyre. Great policy and well worth it (even if the damage is your fault)

Where/how did you get the price for those tyres?
I was quoted $420 for 225/40/18s. For sure if I can get them at a price like that I will go for those. For the moment though I'm leaning towards the Neros.

Neil, avoid the Nankangs like the plague. I can't wait to get rid of them off the R.
                          Cheers

They were just thrown in for a comparison. I don't intend on going any where near them.

I'll check them out. Who was the retailer for those?

Bob Jane, Beaurepairs, Goodyear Tyre Center, Jaxx and possibly Kmart & Tyre and Auto (dunno if they carry the high end tyres though).
But I'm definitely waiting on Gareth now to find out who he got that price through.
