My car used to beep at me if i did something stupid like leave the lights on and take the keys out of the ignition. It doesn't anymore. Can this be activated via vagcom? Anyone know why it may have turned off?

Check to see if the drivers door trim lamp & dome lamp turn on/off when door is opened/closed. If not sure check this with the other doors.
I think you may have a faulty drivers door lock assy inside the door.
If so I'd replace the regulator clamps as well (with steel ones) from VW.

My mk3 had a similar problem on playing around with the actually assembly it seemed to actually be stuck and that was it.I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...Comment
