4motion gear stick leather torn ...

Basically the gear stick in the bora, specifically the leather part at the bottom (gaiter i think it's called), is really dry and cracking, and it's now got a rip in it.

I'm not good at sewing... any place that would be able to stitch it back up ? Or am I better off just looking to track down another gear stick / gaiter ? And are they easy to install

yep, what dylan said, inexpensive, and look on the net for instructions - the base just pulls out and disconnect the gear knob

I did mine a few months ago and had real problems because the replacement gator was a thicker leather than the original, and there's this ring that's supposed to slip over the leather to hold it against the base of the gear knob, but I just couldn't get it over. In the end I had to use a pipe clamp ... not ideal, but you cant tell from the outside. If the leather was thinner, it would have been really easy though.
