  • 4mo Bora rear swaybar hitting on driveshaft :(

    Hey guys

Installed a whiteline 22mm rear swaybar into my 4mo Bora the other day. All went well until I could hear something banging everytime I go over a bump..

The rear drivers side driveshaft is hitting the end of the swaybar? Doesn't do it on the passenger side.

I've tried the swaybar on all 3 stiffness settings, and same problem everytime..
Pulled the swaybar out, and re-installed to make sure it was in properly.. still doing it

So now I have no idea whats going on

Does anyone have any ideas? Car is stock height/stock suspension. Nothing appears bent or damaged

    Pics:

Drivers side. Can see where it hits and has rubbed off the sticker

Passenger side is perfect. not rubbing, no noise at all

mine didnt do that .. is it the bar that's rubbing ? or is it the end link that's rubbing ?

you may need an adjustable end link ..

This might sound Capt Obvious but is the bar designed for 4Mo or FWD mk4? I've got a Neuspeed 22mm rear and it hasnt ever knocked, even with slight lowering.

FWD has a torsion beam rear end, so the swaybars are not compatible.

Adjustable links sound like the go.

Have you spoken to Whiteline about it?

After pulling out the swaybar, it turns out its actually bent
            Pretty significantly too

Gonna call the company I bought it off on Monday for a replacement. Hopefully it goes smoothly...
Because there's no way I could have bent it. Gonna argue that it's a manufacturing defect or it got bent in postage

              Who u buy it from?
I got a defective front one from whiteline and they flatout denied there was a problem with them even though there was 100s with the same issue in the UK and they had done a recall over there.
Dodgy as if you ask me. Hopefully you have more luck

Bought from MRT Performance in Sydney

If they don't replace it I'm gonna cause such a fuss haha. Didn't pay nearly $300 to get a bent swaybar..
Whiteline are supposed to be a premium product as well

MRT Performance in Sydney who I bought the sway bar off were extremely helpful. I sent the bar down to them, and they forwarded it onto Whiteline. Received a call today from Whiteline saying they are going to make me a brand new replacement bar

Only problem is it'll be about 2 weeks due to easter etc. But still happy it was resolved with no fuss. Currently driving to and from work without a rear swaybar installed... such a boat around corners lol
