Back in Syd! Finally.....

Hey all,

Got back to Syd from 10 weeks in Perth yesterday. Had the new coilovers installed last week. (a mate took it in for me) Haven't driven the Bora since i left BUT when i came ive noticed a problem with the ABS. The ABS ant T/C light are coming on and once when pulling away from the bottleshop it sounded like the ABS was locking the front right wheel for a couple of seconds without any pressure on the brake pedal whatsoever. The ABS light came on then no grinding from then on. Any ideas?

My mate said he noticed something strange with the brakes on the way to get the coilovers installed. Could it just be that it hasnt been driven in so long somethings stiffened up and just it needs a good thrashing?

Also, in regards to the coilovers. The car looks heaps better but im gonna have to get used to the stiff ride! They're the K-Sports. It handles like an animal now but it very stiff for everyday driving. How much can the stiffness be adjusted?

O and the TC is going nuts when i first take off, the light flashes for a while and then turns on for the remainder of the trip till i turn the engine off. Do i need to have it reset or something now that the car is lower?

i think you need to vagcom the car.

What coilovers did you get, nice look but can go lower

Yeah im gonna drop it another half an inch or so this afternoon or tomorrow if i get a chance. They're the K-Sports. The difference in handling is unbelievable!

Yeah you will notice the difference straight away with any coilover I reckon over the stock suspension you can feel the road more, more control so to speak! Congrats, you need to lower it more though, get the phone out and place it side on for lowness and match that

Looking good. Whats the adjustment range on the coilovers? I got KW's and can only drop it 50mm at the back, would be happier if can come down another 15-20mm.

Coilovers + northern beaches = VERY BAD IDEA.

I recently went from coilovers back to springs/shocks so I can now enjoy West Head Rd, Liberator General San Martin Drive, McCarrs Creek Rd, Cottage Point Rd etc again.

With coilovers, you can't drive faster than 30km/h on these roads. Going back to springs/shocks was the best thing I've ever done!

Personally - I'd hang in there. You'll find they will soften up a bit more over the next week or so. After driving a car with coilovers I can't see how you would possibly want to go back to springs/shocks but each to their own I guess.
