MK4 A/C Service Port Valves. Dont buy from VW!!
Hi All,
As were in that time of the year when its hot and A/C is the best thing in the world I thought i'd share a finding of mine.
When my High Side A/C Service port valve started leaking badly I searched everywhere to find a non genuine replacement to no luck. As Such I paid $64 for it from VW.
Now just after re-gassing the a/c my Low side service port started leaking... just my luck. Not willing to pay another $64 from VW for that valve I started looking for a replacement elsewhere.
Well i've found one
For a wallet shattering sub $8 US ea. for the High Side and Low Side you can get replacements form the States. They're to suit a Ford / GM application but are the same as what is found on the MK4 Bora 4motion and thus i'd say the rest of the Mk4 builds.
Part Numbers are:
4 Seasons 59945 (Low Side)
4 Seasons 59946 (High Side)
I got mine from Amazon.com but they're out of stock and now are shipping from a 3rd party who wont ship to Aust. However I'm sure there are plenty of other US parts dealers where you will be able to pick one up!
