  • 4motion Bora Wheel Spacers

    Hi all

Just wondering what people have run in the past in terms of wheel spacers on their cars.
I've got a set of O.Z Superturismos on the car at the moment and want to push the rear out around 10mm. Can anyone recommend a good spacer they have used and if you need longer lug nuts to suit ..

    Thanks in advance

    Adam

10mm in the rear is no good for the 4mo. Either go less or more as it's not thick enough to be wheel centric. Non-wheel centric will only leave 1-2mm of hub for the wheels to centre and is a PITA.

Go with a trusted brand like H&R or Adaptec, etc. I heard of some problems with FK spacers/adapters.

And yes you'll definitely need longer bolts (stock length + spacer thickness).

        Cheers for the reply

Was having a look at these:

        Volkswagen R32 MKIV 3.2 > Wheels > Spacers > ES#260830 ECS Wheel Spacer And Bolt Kit - 5mm With Ball Seat Bolts - ECS10241KTWB

And apparently these sort out the hub centric issue?

OEM / Performance Parts for Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Porsche & Volkswagen - ECS Tuning

If I brought the appropriate size spacer (and blot kit) + the ring would that be feasible?

        Thanks

Hi - I have these bought from this place - I thoroughly recommend them.
The 40mm means overall Track, so 20mm each side.

Great Quality, made in Germany. Painted the same colour as your hubs, you have genuine hub extensions...

Oh, and you use the included bolts to bolt it to your bub, and then your standard bolts for the wheel - brilliant!

              As kapowww said...
Also need to check the design of the back of the whee, some do, and some don't have a chamfer around the centrebore, also the size of the chamfer can play a part

Be aware that the use of spacers on public roads is illegal in every state and territory in Australia.
                Nothing to see here...

                  Thanks for the replies everyone

I've checked the hub and it appears these will fit and also come with extended wheels nuts to suit and solve my centric issue

                  Thoughts?

They look OK. I would much prefer the design of the H & R ones as they don't require the longer bolts and when you take wheels off there are no spacers that fall off and when the bolt on ones are painted with the same colour as the hub, they disappear...

                    but each to his own

if getting 20mm for the rear, maybe get something for the front too. otherwise itll be super obvious that there is spacers in the rear.
I personally think 5-10mm is the max offset stagger on mk4s for visual reasons

I've had a few friends use the ones that require two sets of bolts and they didnt have a good experience with them haha
I'd rather just have a set of strong longer bolts holding the wheel on and thats it to be honest.

One of the drift drivers I know uses the same design spacer on his car and it takes an absolute beating with no problem at all, so being confident with that

I still have no idea what size I should go, I know 20mm will push the rim out to be just under the guard, and I do have KW's in there so I can adjust them if i need too

Yeah sure - I have ET 35 wheels 18x8 and 20mm spacers on the rear (none on the front) and mine look like this.

Any more pics of the rear?

EDIT: Never mind, found your build thread ^.^
