Wiring up parkers differently?

I have HIDs on my MkIV and the parkers really take the shine away from the HIDs. They prove no purpose when my headlights are on.

Has anyone ever wired theirs up, or no how to, wire it up so they come on when the parkers are on but go off when the headlights are on??

Your parkers take away from your (illegal) HIDs? Please explain...

You will find that turning parking lamps (also referred to as clearance lamps) when headights are on is illegal. The reason (as others have also mentioned) is that should a headlamp fail (for whatever reason), you would lose illumination of the extent of thevehicle width.

Don't go back to the way the old air-cooled VWs were referred to (one eyed kr**ts) as they were notorious for losing the electrics on one side.

Do you mean Parks as in the European bright light that you can leave on all night or SIDE LIGHTS as most cars here have.

Im pretty sure you are not allowed to turn sidelights off when headlights come on for the reasons given above.

You are also not allowed to fit HID headlights without all the required other bits but as in other threads it doesnt seem to stop people doing it.

Get the Ziza LED Parkers from ecs, I got them on mine with 5000k HID and the colour almost matches, If your HID's are brighter than 5000k I think it would match up pretty good.

I believe 5000k is a color rather than a degree of brightness.

Is it not lumens that defines brightness

It was a pretty simple question. I didnt ask for anyones opinion on legallity. If for some god for saken reason my HIDs fail, guess what...I will turn to my parkers.
