i'd get ecs stage 1 kit (vr6 clutch with g60 single mass flywheel).
costs less than oem clutch even with shipping from the states.
no chatter either. check your clutch fork, mine was bent n cracked
I'm probably looking to change from the single flywheel to a 228mm dual mass (if I can find one). Not finding the torque I was getting with the lighter flywheel..... or maybe it's because everything else in the driveline is crapping itself.

I chucked a DMFW away about a month ago after going solid on my A3. Got a lightened ABF FW from Golfloon and bought an uprated clutch from Extreme clutches.
Cost about a grand all up. I was going to get the kit from ECStuning but figured if I had problems it would be a lot harder to deal with the states over someone in town.
I have had trouble with the bite point being really low, tried a new slave cylinder which didn't fix it, in the end I had an extension machined up by a mate to lengthen the rod on the slave cylinder by 5mm. It's still low but ok to drive.
The pedal is little heavier and it doesn't drive as smooth but I knew it wouldn't be perfect. The DMFW removes a lot of shunt when going on and off the throttle.

i've got a 225mm dual mass (approx 22lbs) which is the stock one in 1.8t (02J tranny).
are saying that you want to change from a single mass to dual mass because you are not finding the torque you were getting with the lighter flywheel.. Single mass flywheels are usually lighter.
what car is the 228mm dmfw from? s3/tt or stock vr6?
