Bora antenna removal?

Hey guys

Does anyone know how to remove the antenna/ariel bit on the roof? I'm hoping I don't have to take out the roof lining inside...

Going to replace with a shark fin!

to remove the base (pictured) yes the roof lining will have to be dropped or removed.
to replace the actual aerial or the gasket (both missing from your pic) no, the lining doesnt have to be touched

I managed to pull the headliner down just far enough to get one hand in there. Fiddle around with a small ratchet untill I got it loose, then just unscrew the rest of it out with fingers. Mine was really easy because it the nut was really loose, probably could of just unscrewed it with just my fingers.

I had already taken off the ariel bit which screw onto it. I was hoping there would be a screw down inside the thread

The reason why I want to replace it is because of the lack of gasket. Didn't think that'd be an easy fix? I just figured I'd need a full replacement

Check out dub addiction for the gasket.
It's easy to install without removing the base. Just put it in some warm/hot water to soften and it stretches over.
Iv done my Bora and GFs polo now no problems

Did you do it because yours was going grey and Did you cut off the old one?? Mines starting to look a little haggard so i was going to replace it.

Bora one had split and was just hanging on.
Polo had some growth happening
