  • MkIV .:R32

Hi guys, I am fairly new to VWW but I have been looking at different things on the forum for a while now. I have a mkIV .:R32 that I bough earlier this year and I am planning on doing a few mods next year. Will be a slow process due to apprentice wages But I plan to make quite a few changes, mainly cosmetic to start with.

When I purchased the car, it was superrrr low on ksport coilovers and I wasn't able to make it up the gutter to my drive way or even get over the peak of my driveway into my garage There was no way I was going to leave my new pride and joy out in the street so I got the original suspension back and bolted that on. (I am looking to sell my ksport coilovers just if anyone is interested haha)

Since then I have not changed anything on the car but I am loving every drive of it! When I got the car it already had the original R32 wheels powder-coated black, 3" exhaust straight through (sounds tough) and smoked tail lights.

There is about $1100 worth of damage on the front left section of the car at the moment. I had it parked on a corner one day at work, after I had finished work I came out to find that a truck and trailer had managed to take out my wing mirror and damage the front quarter and front bumper on my baby! Easily the worst day at work ever.

Here is a picture of my car as it is now (hard to see the damage thanks to a friend who is a photographer)

And a photo from when i first got the car

Why not just wind the coilovers up? That way its best of both worlds. Allthought if you do look at getting coilovers again i suggest KW's v1-3 all though might be a bit pricey. Looks good though.

They were wound all the way up, couldn't get any more hieght out of them. I will be going KW v1's once I get the funds up. The ksport felt pretty bad aswell to be honest.

                Congrats on the purchase.

I wondered who ended up buying this, good to see it become a forum car. Does it still have that ridiculous gear knob in it? Or did the previous young fella put the stock one back on??

As far as I know it has the original gear knob in it, all though I don't think it was put on there properly or the thread is stripped. It seems to be moving around al lot. I'll have to check that out soon.

I should have it out a couple meets next year. I'm working night shift at the moment and cant't really get to any meets.

Well, with that response my guess would be the stock one is on there... When I viewed the car it had a foot of black piping/tubing jammed onto the shaft. That and a few other things didn't give me confidence personally. Hopefully you can restore her where she deserves to be though

Would be good to see you at future events, there is a number of us in Bris now kicking around in the Mk4 R32s, great cars

Don't think I would have got the car if I had of seen that. I'm looking after it the best I can! When I get the damage fixed on the front of the car I am also going to get them to detail the whole thing and fix up any imperfections it has so I will 100% again Just have to get some money in the bank first! Being an apprentice makes things like this take a bit of time .

I will be to a few meets for sure! I love seeing these cars and to go to some meets where there is a few more of them getting around would be awesome.

Welcome to VWW. Congrats on the purchase of such an awesome drivers car. Lucky you weren't in the car when the truck managed to reverse into it. Some more pictures would be great.

Keen to see where you go with this!
