Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Air con performance in V6 Boras ..

Hey guys , just wanted to see what a decent performing V6 Bora Air con would perform like .. im not entirely sure that mine is quite doing the job properly .. it gets cool .. but not as cool as i've seen other cars go .. what's the plan on checking it out ?

    thanks,

Mine works quite well. couldnt really ask for it to be any better. only problem i have is the central flap motor has crapped itself so im stuck on recirculating air. Try getting it regassed.

Mines pretty average i think, in the same boat. Not sure if its just boras or ****ty aircon. Mine was getting to a stage that it wouldn't work over 30 degrees as well which got interesting. Might need a regassing

Code 75 or whatever it is? V71 i think is what i mean? Cause my aircon intake motor threw a code but was actually fine the gearing had just come apart. I reckon it would work when its back together.

Take it to an automotive A/C tech, these systems need servicing just like any other part on the car.
You'd be quite shocked how well it works after a service!

I tried connecting both my V-checker and my dads OBD2 but neither would read that they were connected to the car. they both registered something was connected but wouldnt allow me to check any codes. ill just pull the unit out sometime when i have a free day and have a look. Any tips on removal?
