  • R32 CV Boots

I took my car in for a service yesterday, to Osborne Park VW, and i just had a call from them telling me that my CV boots are torn!! I had one of them replaced a month ago, and i had the wheel bearing changed on the other side. They said its all good and now this!!! And they want $210 for each to replace them! Is this a common fault? It seems unbeliavable!!

its very common for cv boots to split on v6 vehicles passats and r32s mainly bc the cv joint has alot of movement, plus more power transfered from the engine, plus being rubber is subject to cracking from age.

also check yourself that it is cracked bc alot of technicians see the sweat from it and asume its cracked

If the car is anything older than 4 years, it can happen.

I changed mine on the Audi as well , on both sides... One was in pretty good shape. But I would change those myself...
