  • please help mk4 gti...

    hey all ,
having alot of trouble with my 02 gti , firstly it went to a mechanic with symptoms of a cooked air flow meter, and it was traced back to a short between the AFM and the ecu however since this problem ive had the cam position sensor fault code coming up....problem went away for around 3 weeks then i blew head gasket and warped the head ... replaced the head etc...still the cam position sensor code and still running like sh$#t...the hot start is crap if its warm it will hardly start it seems to be flooding the engine .... ive checked out everything i can think of mechanically and electrical including correct earthing etc.. cant find anything...i have the following mods and with all theese it has run perfect in the past.... front mount cooler , diverter valve , turbo inlet pipe , runs 18 psi all the time i think the n75 has been swapped, turbo back exsaust , aem intake pipe and pod filter, plus a few more ive forgotten this thing still goes hard but not like it used to i dont know what im going to do anyone recomend a mechanic that knows their way around gtis?? im starting to think it may be something in the ecu that is fingerd but i want another oppinion from someone who knows their stuff i live in nowra but i can take it anywere between here and sydney ... please help its cost me a fortune so far....if all else fails does anyone know someone that can steal and burn it for me haha jokes......

so did you replace the cam position sensor? This will throw the timing out, make it run like crap etc. If it threw a code then it's probably faulty...

For weird electrical gremlins members Jmac and h100vw (Gav) are both incredibly smart guys, with heaps of knowledge, and very helpful

What tune are you running ? 18 psi is the upper end of the KO3's ability to boost well .
Firstly whats the fault exactly , it could be bad timing , faulty sensor , broken wiring . Without the exact fault code its just a guess .
