Bigger orders are better, as the discounts I can obtain outweigh the cost of freight. Otherwise, I generally try to pool smaller orders together to make the freight costs much more affordable (for what it's worth, goodfella, dyldo and I source straight from ECS as a bit of a "community service" at present, we've run group buys that have been worth $20k plus in the past...).
    You champions!!

Yeah, I totally understand the ECS 'savings vs frieght' thing, that frieght has put me off. After I get a few more quotes for my insurance & see how broke I am, I might put a list of small-ish things together, ready for when you do another order !! (I already started making an ECS wish list a few weeks ago) Let me know if one's coming up.

Insurance: (I'm currently talking to Shannons, but $1314 is a lot for a 35yo with great driving record!). Just cars have online quoted me about $1050, I'm not sure who else insures modified cars?....

    Thanks again!!

Mother Funkers , I've been told it's my 'fancy' suburb (near Bronte), he punched in different post codes like out west somewhere & Newcastle, and the premiums went down to near ~$650-$800 !!! WTF?? All other details same as mine except postcode changed. Grrrr...

oh yeah, I only asked for agreed value of $10k too.

            Agreed value $14,400.
Pay $800 to 900 per year - Sydney south and am 37, full no claim.

Was more expensive due to wheels and coil overs.
I have 4 cars and the house with them.

I gave them a call this afternoon, down to like $1160, but that's still so much money. I'll give them another call tomorrow, see if adding more imobilisation or limiting my kms/year might help?? But it definitely seems to be the postcode that is the worst. Apparently even in at Surry Hills would be $100 cheaper. Sucks. I might just do pay by the month, seeing I'll have to move soon anyway... At least they don't charge extra to do that.

Just Cars quoted me $1037. Anyone used them?

I've totally taken this thread on a tangent, maybe I should start a new one..

ECSTuning is just amazing. Parts arrive within a week. You'll have to watch the invoice amount... orders exceeding $1000(including freight) will get a ~11% tax when it arrives in Australia. Also better check the part numbers. Some parts dont match up as they have slightly different VW models.

                  Autohaus One

Has anyone actually had their car serviced at Autohaus ONe?
My work is just a couple of blocks away from them and it would be nice if I had my car serviced there.
I got my car serviced at VW Village in Kensington (near Randwick) about 2 weeks ago and I'm not completely happy with it.
I got a minor service for $240 and thats just visual insp, oil / filter change you know the general stuff.
                  Is this price normal?

Good question, I'd love to know more about Autohaus One too!... I work only a few hundred meters down the road from them & would love to know if they do good work for a 'reasonable' price??

Camden GTI has been good to me, but Campbelltown is too far to 'just pop in' for small things, or to get something looked at quickly, before making a booking.

Has anyone tried German Auto Spares in the UK?
Welcome to German Auto Spares - German Auto Spares - suppliers of VAG Febi Car Spare Parts

I'm chasing a FRONT ANTI ROLL BAR DROP LINK (1K0411315K) for my R36 and their price delivered is half of what my local dealer is asking.

Interesting, particularly as the UK is a RHD market, and that's probably the biggest issue with dealing with ECSTuning (aside from other model differences, such as the fact the only 4Mo car they got in the US as a Mk4 was the R32).

Guys I went down to the Autohaus one this morning and checked out some prices. For a minor service the price starts from about $400. For major it's about $600+ !!
