Lowering Springs , Eibach vs H&R

Hi Guys . . just wanting to hear about experiences about lowering springs on 4Motion Boras ..
Which of the two feels nicer as a daily .. im looking to close the gap that keeps on burning my eyes with low dollars for the time being ..

which of two offer a stiffer ride ? H&R offer 50mm lowering kits as opposed to Eibach's 30mm .. i'm more inclined to go with the 50mm .. but just want some advice before i buy .. stock suspension is a bit too soft coming form coilovers on a Mk3 ..

I would suggest the 50mm, just because if you get the 30mm I guarantee you will want to go lower and start kicking yourself over it

Haha Point ! how do you find the JOM's ? too rough sometimes ?

The JOM's are pretty good. A bit bouncy but it all depends on how you drive but they go nice and low so its worth it

I was going to suggest them to you but I don't know if they make them for the 4mo

yeah i had a look .. they would cost me about the same lol .. but i want to keep it as a daily and get KW V2's in the long run .. dont know . . decisions decisions ..

Why don't you just save for the KW's and do your suspension once? - if you're going to swap them eventually it seems crazy to do it a couple of times. (Unless you're reasoning is trying to suss the differences between a quality shock/spring vs coilovers)

I went with Eibach springs/Koni shocks on my Golf. It's not Über slammed, but it's at least 50mm.

Having switched set ups twice now, I'd say save your money and do it once - unless you get a buzz from repeating things Groundhog Day style.

Hi mate. Iv just pulled out from my 4Mo a set of lowered bilstiens shock and spring set up that was lowered over 50mm and installed coilovers from weitec hicons. Im able to go lower than my springs that used to bottom out on the fronts continoudly :/
Have a chat to Preen here and he will look after you on a decent price. But im like the others do it right the first time.
Just remembered i installed 50mm hardened lowered springs on my sisters 2.0 bora and it rides alright. If you want to get your springs custom made thres a guy in Prestons (syd) that manufactures springs for all suspension guys.

Just be careful dropping a 4Mo too low compared to standard - the rear camber can start to become an issue.

50mm drop now (probably less when measured against sagging springs) will increase a little with age of the new springs too.

Thanks for the input guys .. seems like it makes more sense to wait and get them V2's .. going to take some serious time tho lol . . i was chasing quick lows .. but dont want to damage my 4Mo .. such a solid nice car .. still 100K on the clock

Totally agree had a mate did the same purchased 30mm but was disappointed. Wants more low!!!

This I got eibach pro kit. Should of got street line.

Good kit though. I paired mine up with koni strt if your in melb I'd be happy to show you. But if you looking at self install get coilovers to much f'ing around with shocks and springs.
