MK4 radio wiring diagram??

Hey guys so ive had no time to fix this problem yet but thought I would ask you guys. When ever I turn my ignition off and on the headunit doesnt resume the setting it was on 'cd player' it goes back to standby? :/

Also the ariel adapter has a blue wire attached to it so I connected it to the blue ariel wire but my reception is still shocking. And advice guys?

Wont make any difference to reception.

The reception comes from the big thick wire with a banana type plug which goes into a socket in the back of the unit.

It sounds like you have the power from battery and accessory memory (always on ) reversed.

You will find out if and when battery goes flat.

I wouldnt have a clue which is the memory wire. My battery hasnt sounded like its going to fail but i'll check voltage. The ariel adapter plugs into the headunit and into the existing ariel cable behind dash. The blue wire that trails off adapter has me stumped :/

IIRC when I did mine the car side of the ISO plug (The two standardised plugs one black, one grey) had some wires which were the wrong way around such as the switched and constant power. You might have to just make sure they are connected right using either a multimeter or similar (obviously make the changes on your adapter just in case you go back to a stock head unit). As for reception, Make sure that your head unit takes a boosted signal. I recently downgraded to a r32 head unit and was having awful reception issues. Came down to having the boosted antenna hooked up when the stock r32 doesn't have boosted antenna but the bora did.
