Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. depends how low you want to go and what you want to do with your car.

Springs are fine, if thats what you want. I had 30mm lowered springs in my GTI and it wasnt what i wanted and ended up going coilovers.

Hi, I'm not sure about the V5 height sorry - and the springs are different for the models - I must say, my mechanic who fitted them was impressed by the uniformity of the drop - he measured before and after, and found the drop to be consistent - he reckons you only get that with really good springs... and yes they are 18s - 18x8s. I must say the ride is not too hard, i have my Konis on Max and the ride is good...

The Eibach 35mm drop springs are too soft especially in the rear, go for the H&R in the same drop.
