Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    1999 mkIV GOLF 1.6 engine number

    Ive searched the forum to find an answer before posting this question... No luck.

    Im looking at the engine block of 1999 1.6litre MkIV Golf GL, can someone please tell me where is the engine number located? It should be AEH, but could possibly be an AKL as the engine was changed once.

    Any advice would be grealy appreciated.
