  • Opinions please and help on inspecting a vw diesel

I think I could afford it... but I need some advice and help in getting someone to check it out for me. (I live is the Blue Mountains west of Sydney and the car is in Southport Qld)

Is $19990 too much for a 2001 Golf Diesel? How can you tell if the kms are genuine?

    I've found:
    Make: VOLKSWAGEN
    Model: GOLF
    Year: 2001
    Transmission - Automatic
    Body type: HATCHBACK
    Exterior Colour: Black
    Engine Size: 1896
    Fuel Type: Diesel
    Odometer: 42662
    Price: $19,990

    Southport, Queensland

I tried looking up redbook for the stats and prices of that model but they don't list a 2001 being sold as a diesel.

If it's a 2007 then its not a bad deal.

Edit: You guys beat me to it.

I would be cautious until you see some pictures in an Australian context. Make sure that you ask to see the Australian Compliance plate and note the car build date and the compliance date.

          Cheers.

I contacted the dealer and the car I quoted and enquired on is not known to them.... They do have a car of similar description but is not a diesel...

Sorry to have wasted everyones time...
