Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • How to clean my instrument cluster 2003 Bora 4mo?

    Hi Guys,

Apologies if this is obvious to some, I have read some warnings about immobilisers being messed up...?

I want to clean the dust out of the inside of it and make it crystal clear like new...

Can someone point me to a post or guide to how it is done?

    Cheers,

    Scott

I used a air gun and som compressed air to do my Bora, then used a plastic polish on the outside. Wasn't perfect but so much better.
Can't see why you couldn't remove the cluster then remove the plastic from it...

Thanks, that would be pretty easy - I did find a couple of write ups in the end, and yes, you pull out the cluster completely, and unscrew the Plastic screen from the back - everyone just says be careful not to scratch it... we'll see how it goes.
