  • R32 Number Plate Bracket Delete

My car is at the panel beaters next week if they can find a driver's side door (a 3 week wait if they don't) and apparently they will be pulling the front bumper off anyways. So I'm looking to get it fully repaired and resprayed and was wondering about doing the number plate bracket delete thing hehe
However what is the best way to reattach it to the bumper as seeing as my car is still insured under my father's name he is not keen on having it in front of the radiator.
Also if I was to just do this later how much would I be looking at paying for it to be done by itself?

    Cheers,
    Jed

Haha I'm hoping not to screw into the bumper but might if I have to.
Are people using that 3m double sided tape stuff??

what happened to your driver side door?

if the front bumper is being pulled off and repaired/resprayed then you may aswell do the number plate delete now it does look alot cleaner

double sided tape works will work well, i dont know of many people wanting to steal a number plate? haha

haha trying to push start the car (battery died) dad managed to let go of the door and let it swing open into the house post
so she needs a new door
But I figure I may as well get the bumper fixed up and hopefully do this
Double-Sided tape sounds the goods at this stage. However what happens when you try and pull the tape off at a later date??

Use fishing line to remove the plate, then cleanup the sticky with eucalyptus oil.

ahhh thats unlucky man, my dad runs a smash repair shop and he said getting certain parts for this car is a nightmare!! lol

to remove the double sided tape you can use the fishing wire or a heat gun to loosen the adhesive, but dont go overboard and start melting things haha then you can use a few products, eucalyptus oil is good, i go for a caramel wheel, but you will need something to spin the wheel like a drill, this caramel wheel is excellent in removing adhesives and other leftover crap on your paintwork, then go over it with a clay bar and then you can polish/buff it to a shine

I've been wanting to do this for quite some time but wasn't sure if it would look right mounting it to the bottom grille but after seeing this, it makes it look so much cleaner! looks great man
