Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Those are 18x9.75 et20 though. With a bit (or a lot) of money you can make any wheel fit. You'd need a hub ring adapter for these as the centre bore is 73.1.. Also the ones you linked obvs won't sit as flush.

Thanks for the input. So you reckon et35 will fit and clear the guard and suspension set up? I was also looking at the GTC wheels and apparently they're the same as VMR's. Seems like they don't have any in the pcd i need.
Any suggestions on wheels? Budget is about 1k.

Do you have a FWD Bora or 4motion?

depends on the height of the car to if itll work up front or not. might run into issues with the strut being too close and serious rubbing on the inside of the arch on full lock if its too low.

I've been eyeing these wheels too but not sure if they'll clear my brakes. they should due to the concavity but you can be my guinea pig. =]

Hey kapowww I remembered you had some Miro wheels? Were they these ones?

Thinking of having them since the CB is right. How were they sitting without the spacers if you have any on?
                    Cheers

I had the Miro STP-1s but I think now they've been superseded by the Miro Type 380 but they had the same size and fitment of the ones you linked. Not sure about the face of the Miro 368 wheels but the 380s didn't clear my brake calipers so that's why I needed 5mm on the front and 10mm on the rear. Should be similar.

The rears would have looked better without the spacers. I sold them to a friend who has a Mk4 GTI and he needed a 5mm spacer on the front but none on the rear! What a jerk..

Exactly! I'm so stupid and impulsive sometimes lol . I actually just bought a set of 17" wheels instead, a decent compromise IMO.. 18s look the biz, but ride like shiz.

EDIT: Actually I don't know if 17 will be much of an improvement in ride quality but I like to pretend it will be.
