Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Har har har..yea they can be taken of but i find it easier to tape up and spray right round the car so i its all even and i dont have to worry about dropping bits and scraping them trying to refit..anyway thats a kind of each to there own!

Heres the finished product, still waiting on my valance tho

Hey that is a massive transformation.
Have a search for member No457 Snowy, he has a white GTI, I think he coded the rear valance. That car could be some good inspiration.

        Snowys car is sooo tidy.
are the indicators full faded or is it just the photo...? some fresh clear ones will finish the side of the car off nicely

                        Looking good now

But the photochop is too low.
I like to see just a 20-25mm gap above the wheel.
The rear will come forward a bit when lowered that far, they never sit in the middle of the arch.
I doubt you'd get a front valance on.

Could do with the rear wheel coming out just a smidge.

Check out Sams while mk4 golf, he had the same wheels, looked pretty damn tidy in person

Interesting to see what it turns out like. Watch for the front sway bar rubbing.. Mine does slightly and I have about 10mm wheel gap. Every cars different though. you might get away with it!

                                This.

I bet you'll want more then 3mm spacers by the time you finish lowering and it all sucks in
