  • Our Mk4, nice pick up.

Manage to get a great Mk4 1.6 for the partner last week.
It was very cheap and is immaculate. Never been bingled, stone chipped and is a fine example. I stuck some Bora wheels on it last night.
Cost??? $12,000. My partner drove a black motored Commodore which used $10 fuel each day to do 44 kms!!!!

          Nice

          Hi all,

Looks like a nice pickup. There are a few 1.6L around for a good price.
I picked mine up for $13,500 with 49000ks on the clock back in August.

The way I looked at it, german quality and style for the price of a Daewoo...

          I have never looked back.

Thanks guys. I loved my old red Mk4. They are such a solid and safe car. The 1.6s go ok. The partner previously had a Falcon XR8 in Sydney but she rates the quality up there with that. She is one happy camper. After 4 days of travelling tyo work, the fuel gauge has only moved 1 1/2 notchs.
Just gotta hope the dif holds in there!!!
            Cheers, Andrew

              Nice

              Hi all,

I travel 60km to and 60km home from work each day, mainly on the motorway but sometimes sitting in traffic (for those in Brisbane...the gateway).

I am consistantly getting 750km before the fuel light comes on...best was 780km....you have to be happy with that

Hey George!!! Would that be such a bad thing???
Maybe a little noisy though! Lowered suspension will be on the list next year after the GTI gets its coilovers.
Thanks for the comments too guys.
