  • Golf GTI Gaiter (boot) for 5 speed manual

    Hi guys,
I decided to change my gear knob to an off the shelf autobarn knob and reaslised the gaiter is too small (in height) to cover the stick. So I bought a new boot (off the shelf Supercheap) and realised there was no real way of attaching it to the plates. I unstapled the old boot and tried to staple the new one onto the original plate but of course, FML, there is no way it will fit!!!!

I have 1 hair left on my head. Anyone changed the shifter knob before and had this problem??? Surely there must be another neat way to do it.

    Thanks.

    Sincerely Knob Head.

There are some DIYs around. I do recall there being a big clip on the pole/rod to remove.

I'm abit worried you are shopping at Supercheap to replace the gaitor, surely that cheapens the look of your car somewhat.
    MK4 GTI - Sold
    MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
    MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
