  • Front Brake Pads

    Hi there,
I need new front brake pads for my 2002 2.0l Bora. I ordered some from super cheap, however when I tried installing them they were the wrong ones. db1404. I returned them and they double checked and the same model kept coming up. They came with sensors which my car doesn’t have.
Was wondering if anyone can shed any light on this? Any domestic online retailers before I look into ecs or something

Should be able to go into a vw dealer and they should give you the correct part number. I Will have a look on etka if you are still having problems.

It's probably DB1401 could also be DB 1405, take the sample with you or take the picture of your old pad. I use DB1404 in my T5. I've done almost 30,000km on them and I can't see much wear. Great pads, almost no dust on the wheels. Highly recommend Bendix GCT.

Yeah I went and had a look. It looked like its either db1405 or another one that looked very similar in size. Can anyone confirm for me whether its db1405?

The p/n's I quoted you are from Bendix on line catalogue, they're usually accurate.

                this is very misleading

my cars a 2.0 2002 model. According to that db 1401, 1405 and 1404 will fit!

                Clearly 1404 were wrong

Yes, you need to take the old pad with you or at least the picture of it, simle enough.
Alternativelly, go to the dealer with your VIN and they give you the right pads for your Bora.

cheers for your help. I'm sure someone on here could confirm which one it is seeing its a bora forum! I'm not doing the installing, a friend is, I have no clue how to get the brakes out or have any tools at home I really dont wanna go through the hassle in taking the pads out just to double check this.

Problem is most of us have the 4mo which is different brakes and most of us also get our brake pads from overseas due to being cheaper so its a bit hard to help. As said easiest way to get a correct answer is to visit a stealer ship.
