Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf 2.0L Misfiring

    Hey guys.

Recently my car was misfiring, so I took it my mechanic and he scanned it for codes and found out it was misfiring in cylinders 2 and 3. He tested the coil pack and the leads, and found that they were fine and found a problem with the spark plugs, so he replaced them and everything was fine for about 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks it started misfiring every now and then, but now it is doing it very regularly.

Just wondering as to what your thoughts on the problem could be.
I know there are many other things that can cause misfiring so just intrigued on other people's opinion or past experiences.

    Thanks,
    Bruce93

I had a failed ignition module yesterday. It caused cylinder 3 to go down. Coil packs looked to be the culptit at first.
I'm not sure if your model has this thing. Check if there is wiring going to the air box or not.
