Bora 2003 4 Motion Fan Cluster (Thermo Fan Set)

Hi Guys,
I recently had the (apparently common) problem of my small fan burning out and my Larger Fan working, but only when the engine got hot, so the aircon only worked when there was sufficient airflow across the A/C radiator thingy...
There are plenty of fan clusters for sale on ebay, but they only list as being for a Bora from 99 to 2001. I had the guy take some measurements and as they were the same, I took a punt. Noone could tell me if it would fit, including the manufacturer who just said it's only listed for 99-01. Turns out the motors are slightly larger and appear more solid than the originals and by tilting the fans as you come up from underneath, they fit perfectly. This is the kind of fan I bought -

I also bought a replacement Thermo fan switch off ebay US for about $35 delivered, and both work a treat.

Maybe when someone is like me and wondering they will search here and be a little more confident than I was when I bought mine...

Was this the common error of blown resistors? Cause if so there's a cheaper solution to the problem.
