  • Coil part number for AGU engine

    Hi All,

Im do appologise if this is redone, however just wondering if someone knows the part number for a reliable coil pack that is suitable for our AGU engines, i plan to purchase from ECS tuning?

    Thanks

There's nothing much wrong with the standard VW ones. I haven't come across a bad one in 6 years in Australia. The Ignition amplifiers in the airbox lid however are a different story.

If you have a missfire I'd change the plugs first, cheap, before fitting another amp.

i really appreciate such a prompt response, as i was about to order. I am suffering from chronic misfire and have replaced a coilpack before that fixed the problem, i have been quoted $130 in oz, but can get for $100 from ECS - despite the shipping charge.
      But always happy for assistance.

Does it sound like a WRX? Honestly, I'd go the amp first. I have 4 coilpacks in my garage, if you pay the postage back and forth, you can have them for trouble shooting.

I agree with gavin on the coil pack controller. Very common.
I have new aftermarket ones in stock if you are in need.

AGU is not prone to coil pack failure like some of the other engine codes.
The ignition amp is screwed to the air box near the MAF, look for a wiring harness onto the air box.
