Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
I'm actually having new rotors and pads put on the Bora today from ECS. I did a lot of shopping and research and found that I would spend more on my 312's here than what I would spend to order and ship them over from the US.
I was looking into DBA for awhile, but they discontinued their standard level 312's very recently. I called all over the place hoping to find someone who still had them in stock...nope. The next thing they have available is the 4000 series that they retail through places like SuperCheap auto. Problem is they want nearly $500 for them, per rotor! That was just ridiculous considering you could previously purchase them through other means for about $250 ea. Almost makes you want to go OEM, but stay strong. OEM pads are generally very hard, while OEM rotor material is very soft, so you'll get lots of dust and replace parts more often than necessary.
EBC looks alright, but expect to pay at least in much for shipping as what you'll pay for the parts anywhere you get them from. You can get their slotted turbo groove 312's shipped to Oz for $330ish, which isn't bad. I haven't researched these discs, so I'm not certain of their quality, but for the price, it seems worth looking into.
From ECS, I just got the Zimmerman Anti-corrosion vented discs and PBR ceramics for their low dust. I read some reviews that say they work well together after a slower bedding-in process where finish material is worn down slowly and pad material is deposited evenly at lower temps. Eventually, I'll spec up to some slotted discs but the surface area on 312's will give me more than enough stopping power for the type of driving I do. All up, this was $470 incl shipping.
Happy shopping.

- You want respect? Have a nice car AND know how to drive it. I like sh*t-hot cars with an auto gearbox, but don't tell me you can drive, and that you beat so and so when all you can do is put your foot down. Grow a stick and some balls and then we can talk.
