  • Wheel offsets

Hi guys, just a quick question regarding wheel offsets.

I'm looking at a set of 18's, mainly for track use, and was wondering what the general consensus is with offsets. I know the factory R32 18's had an 38mm offset, but are Golfs particularly sensitive to changes in offset?

I have my eye on a set of 18x8.5 et35 rims and want to make sure I don't get any tramlining or scrubbing problems.

yah I am wondering the same thing but for my bora v6 18X8 5-100 ET35

The tyre manufacturer was going to throw in these 4@68/57 INSERT FOR OZ

Sorry to steal your thread thought I might as well ask at the same time.

I reckon you are better off using a smaller tyre for track use maybe 16/17.

Any particular reason for using 18s?

Might be better to go with 17s or even 16s for trackwork..

Like the others have said, 18's for trackwork is over kill. Get some wide ass 16's.

OK, so looks like 17's will be the go for track work (or probably the standard Montreal II 16's I have at the moment once I replace them)

Are there any problems running an 18x8 et35 as normal daily drive wheels? Or are 18's too wide, 8" wide too wide?

              What do others run?

(oh, and I just realised I posted this in the wrong forum originally too! Mods, please feel free to move. my bad)

I run 19X8 with 225/35/19 and my car is stock height. It doesnt scrub whatsoever. Might when i lower it a few inches in the next few weeks though!
