hey mate have a look at this thread

the gti may only have 17 more kw but you can chip it for under $1000 to give 140kw

thanks guys an engine swap seems pretty straight forward and considering my car is more closly related to a gti than any other model it may be alot more easier of an engine swap than a 1.6 or 2.0 may even be able to just get the gti turbo setup and have it put in and tuned who knows ill keep looking into it but if theres anymore people out there that can give me more info please do the more the better

Yes it is related as it is the same platform, as is the bora above mentioned too, and Stans 1.6 as well. You will need to source the lot mate, ECU and its loom as its inputs and outputs are way different to the loom you have. You may not have the ignition issue Stan had as his AGU came from an A3, the problem there was the 1.6 was simos and it needed different fuel pump relay inputs from the Golf, but we nutted it out in the end. It may be similar but still very different really.
Good luck and you know you can ask plenty on here as many including myself have seen all sorts of scenarios when converting, doing a 1.8T myself at the moment into a 6N2.
