  • How do I remove my top strut nut? (KW v1 coilovers)

    Hi guys,
I'm having trouble removing my top strut nut.
Trying to get the coilover out and when I turn the 21mm nut, the strut keeps spinning with it.

Is there a way that I can stop it from spinning?

I've already removed the disc, hub and knuckle (bearing housing).
I did try to remove the strut nut first but was spinning then, so didn't think it would matter if I get that stuff out and then the the strut nut last.

    Any suggestions?

you need a allan key to hold the strut, with a socket around it.
so hold the strut in position, and turn the socket via a wrench.
VW or someone do make a special tool to make this a little easier but the same principle applies from memory
