Just seeing if anyone has put racing bucket seats in their car? Just wondering if it needs new brackets made up or if they can bolt straight in? Thanks

Just as a quick note, do our cars have airbags that are linked to the seats (I seem to remember reading that somewhere)?? Because if they do you need to get an engineers certificate for it to be legal and such. Just thought I should check and sorry if I've got it wrong about the standard seats!!
James put a race seat in his bora from memory (same as a mk4 golf)
if the seat wasnt designed for a mk4 then id imagine you would have to get a bracket of some kind, these can usually be purchased with the seat

In 2003 one of the advantages of the GTI were the side airbags. They weren't available in other models. As far as I know they're only in the sport seats - Recaros, the fauxcaros and the Konigs.
Regardless, the seats will have a patch on the side to identify that they have an airbag.
