Hi all.need to fit 4 new tyres in sydney on my GTI to pass rego.local jax store offering the generic mk4 conti,s 175 a pop. Any thoughts or suggestions.ps car is chipped .thanks

what do you want out of your tyres? good handling, long lasting, less noise and so on?

conti's are good rubber... ive bought more expensive profiles for less than that though.

Give St George tyres a call i recently priced 225/45/17 W91 Continental for $200 fitted and balanced 2011 stock they import the tyres them selves and cut out the middle man .
On the other hand JAX quoted me over $1100 for the same tyres . same as bob Jane.

Yeah guys 205/55/16s good alrounder for daily commute.like to give it the odd squirt without the second gear wheel spin I,m getting at mo and some mileage would be good too.am I asking too much?

Hey Jax only ended up having the premium contact 2 not the sport 2.Looks like a slightly higher wall but was at the rush so bought anyway.Hope they go ok but will post op later in week

You should be alright with these, Conti make good produts. I have Conti Sport Contacts and am happy with them. Will be interested to see your post about the contact 2's.

Just drove to work.30km of city and 80 km rds.tyres seem quiet and fairly sticky though not as good as hoped.threw it round a couple of corners in second and front slid out under acceleration as per the norm.controlled though and fear stuck.verdict.not too sure yet but will post asap
