Hey mate, Ive got a bora 4motion too. 2003 model, Ive been looking into wheels for the past two months too and couldnt find any i liked that actually fit. Because of the stud pattern (5X100) there arn't many wheels that will fit. I finally did find some though and am finally getting a set of 19's in two weeks when the stock arrives.
They're the jet blacks. Theres a gallery with a few cars with this wheel fitted. Should look good. Ill post some pics when they're fitted. Good luck with the search!

Hey Nashan, checked out ur wheels pretty sweet. I saw some I love but dunno if I can get similar for the Bora. You know the ones that are on heaps of new clubbies and commodores? 5 spokes that get fatter out toward edge and are alloy with black inside the lip? along the middle of each spoke is sort of a lack groove. Man....I can't describe to save myself....I know what I mean anyway
Yeah i know the ones your talking about, My mates got them in 19's on his storm ute. Look pretty nice. I like the whole five spoke look and they're a lot easier to keep clean! Ill post some pics next week when i get them!

definitely way too commodorish if i may say so... and common.
from what you originally described as wheels you like, they are whats called deep dish wheels. usually they come in 2 or 3 peices, the "middle bit" (spokes essentially) being one peice and the circular tube like "dish" being being another. theres no dispute that this is the type of wheel that looks best on most VWs:
is that the type of thing you were referring to? the spokes on that one are kinda ugly but you get the idea.
anyway your car looks absolutely stunning. its a classy euro car, keep it that way
edit: check out gpk_gti's car, he has wheels like that. his are 18s.
Hey germanwithaVdub, thanks for your input, I'm open to all comments. One of the reasons I like the other ones is that the spoke goes right to outer lip of rim so optically it looks even bigger, where as the deep dish tend to look smaller, i do likethem but just not as much.
I was also thinking of some a8's reps, what are everyone thoughts on those?

I was also thinking that the rims NgolfU has for sale are pretty sweet, wonder what they would look like

I have had the same dilema, on my old golf3 i had some gmax dish rims and i always thought that that made them look smaller and i always told myself that the next car that i get i will get rims that come all the way out to the lip as this makes them look a lot bigger as you say.
Since purchasing my bora about 6 months ago i have looked at about 50 different sets of wheels and i hate to admit it but i think that im going to go dish again.. I mean there are some nice wheel out there like the gmax that ingolfu is selling but dish rims just rock. ill try to find this link i had to some Schmidt dish wheels.. fat as on the back.. like 10" or something.. looks freakin hot as. Just fills out those guards like they are supposed to look.. im getting goose bumps just thinking about rolling in some of those bad boyz, i mean they are pricey as these wheels but maybe there is something around similar that looks almost as good that we can afford without taking out a second mortgage
Also i think that the a8's are just too busy looking, IMO they do not suite a bora at all.

Yeah i agree with your comment on the a8's. Too busy looking. I was considering them but decided to go with the XHP's instead. Even with the crtisism from VWVortex i still love the wheels i got. Plus i wanted it to look different from other boras out there. Good luck with the search!
