  • Advice on Bora mods pls

Hey all, I have been a member for a couple months now but mainly just laid low til now, sus'n out a few things but I would like some advice from anyone willing to chuck in their 20c. This is the first car I've owned that I have the urge to do up a bit so forgive me if I dont really understand terms etc...

I have an 02 Bora 4 motion and have recently changed tail lights to black smoked, put in angel eyes and mesh Kamei grille. I have a pioneer 7 in double din 6 indash stacker/DVD, boston speakers all round, alpine 12in sub & amps ready to go in.

I wanna get some 18s or 19s to put on it and want maybe something in alloy with the black inside kinda look (excuse the chick type descriptions!) as my car is black. If that makes any sense. I'm struggling to find any I like, Im open to ideas or even better, pics if anyone has seen any.

Also I'm looking at doing suspension as well so can anyone suggest good type and fitter in melb, for looks but not lose too much ride comfort?

What else can I do to it? I'm more into asthetics than major performance but prefer clean look rather than ricey.....suggestions??

    Thanks
    VWW

Sounds like you have good taste in mods with the lights and grille! Great car to start off with too. A set of Audi RS4 B7 wheels would look good with the black and some nice Eibach Pro Kit springs too.

ive recently purchased a bora myself and the first mod that i did was to chuck in some coilovers. As we have the 4motion the choice is kind of limited. I ended up going with a set of bilsteins height adjustable only. They also have a set for the 4motion which is bump and rebound as well as height adjustable but they are a little pricier. After having a long discussion with my local pedders guy I decided that if i am not going be going from track to road there wasnt much justification for spending the extra bucks. I have had them for about 5000ks and i couldnt be happier. The balance between ride quality and handling is perfect IMO so im glad i didnt spend the extra money on fully adjustables. They guards are siting just a tad above the tire and i have put on some white 17's for now just to see what white wheels look like with my black car.

Hey mate, Ive got a bora 4motion too. 2003 model, Ive been looking into wheels for the past two months too and couldnt find any i liked that actually fit. Because of the stud pattern (5X100) there arn't many wheels that will fit. I finally did find some though and am finally getting a set of 19's in two weeks when the stock arrives.

They're the jet blacks. Theres a gallery with a few cars with this wheel fitted. Should look good. Ill post some pics when they're fitted. Good luck with the search!

sweet, post pics when you get them on. all you bora owners post some pics of your cars!!

5x100 shouldn't be too hard to find wheels for since its shared with subaru and a couple others

cheers for the welcome and your help all.
I will update my gallery with pics of what i have done so far tonight.

I am so glad to find other 4motion owners, there doesn't seem to be a huge amount out there. Personally I love the car, I have never had anything that comes close to is before, looks, performance for standard and IMO pretty well priced.

Has anyone had any problems with theirs? Mine has been great so far (touching anything wood!)

As far as im aware the wood grain is real wood vanier so you can touch wood whilst in your car which is pretty handy IMO
