  • Bora Sway Bar Links

    Hi all

Got my Weitec Hicon GTs in a few days ago, amazing kit xD

But due to the lowering and the increased pressure the sway bar link on the drivers side is starting to show its age and giving a knock when I hit a large bump. (Eg: Driving in a driveway)

Now after discussing with my mechanic we've decided to have a hunt around for adjustable links, but I have no idea what I'm looking for : /

I THINK, these are the stock standard ones: Volkswagen R32 MKIV 3.2 > Search > Sway Bar Link > ES#307796 Front Sway Bar Link - 1J0411316D

    But again I'm not sure.

If anyone other dubber has a lowered 4mo with adjustable links and a place where I could get a set, or even just some general information. Would be awesome

    Thanks
    Adam.

not sure if this will suit your 4motion - but have you gotten an after market sway installed as well?

No I have not, the only thing that has been changed in terms of the suspension setup is the coilovers.

Looking at that link provided, I dont think it will fit. The links supplied dont work, but I've checked whiteline already, and they dont have what I'm looking for.

Its always an option to just buy OEM ones again, but because of the coils and such, they wont last the same 8 years that these ones did

I would recommend getting an aftermarket sway on top of the adjustable end links, ecstuning.com link that you posted is an awesome site just the postage is a b*tch.

nar FWD gear wont work in a 4mo without some serious work, and you'd be going backwards if you did in my eyes...
do the 4mos have metal links as standard? if so just run them, new set and get another 100,000km out of them, then go buy some more as balkanac said

Yeah metal as standard, its because they are metal I'm getting the clunks when I hit a bump in the road or w/e.

I think thats what I'm going to do, I'll just replace them with standard and replace them again later.

just sounds like the bushes in the ends are gone if thats the case. FWD have plastic as standard and they just split in two after a while

Yeah exactly right, I'm gonna call imparts tommorrow and see what the go is for getting both links complete. If I can just get them both as a whole for a decent price I'll just do that, saves the hassle.

But I tell you what, the noise sounds horrible. Not so much when your driving, but when I reverse out a driveway and such.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, is there an imparts in Vic? haha

no idea... i get all my stuff from ECS and VW dealers.
are you sure its the end links... lots of other things like strut or control arm bushes, strut bearings and so on can cause nice noises too

EASY solution here mate. Buy these - gruvenparts.com - TT/R32 Adjustable Swaybar End Linkages

May as well grab the Adjust Rear Control Arms too. And may as well get the Adjust Front Control Arms

Its all great gear and basically if you're suspension and steering settings aren't right you will burn thru fuel and tyres at a rate of knots so these are a cheap upgrade in effect.

                        Dyldo, thankyou!
Just looking through that site, those links you linked are categorized under rear links, not fronts. Are they the same?

Just on the topic of all the other bushes and such, I had the car checked by my mech when I noticed the noise and the sway bar links were the only part vibrating creating the noise.
But I'm thinking it might be worth grabbing a refresh kit just for good measure. I'm going down to my mechs today for another car so I'll discuss it with him and see what the go is

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it
