what kind of mileage do you guys get out of the GTIs? My 2.0 gets just shy of 600km before the warning light comes on, can I expect something similar to that? (pending right foot, of course)

I would also check out the Boras, its still a MK4 VW,but a change of body, and still very classic looking.

And the boot space is massive....awesome cars still.

Did you sell the rims and coilovers?? You could always put them on a gti. They're good cars. Fun to drive nice a nimble especially with some lowering.

Well it all depends on how much you want to spend initially i think.

If your thinking of 12-13k on a mk4.... I would not consider buying one.

If you can get one below 10k, which can be done.. then I would.

We have both a 1.6 and a GTI... the GTI is really nice inside with climate control, recaros, and with a tune its great.

I went custom code and its made a good difference.

What makes you say that? All the good ones (less than 150k) seem to be above 10k

I just dont think the money spent is worth the upgrade from your GLE to the GTI if your not concerned with modding the car to make it go faster. All the effort of selling and buying a gti for a sunroof and basic recaros is not worth.

But if you want a sleeper of a car that people dont expect to go really fast.. get a gti and mod it up.

Another thing to note if you go the V6 Bora is it's not the best with fuel economy.. You'll be in for a shock coming from an economic 2.0.

I also agree with the people that say don't bother getting the GTI if you're not going to mod it.
