  • Oil Filter woes

    Hi All,

Was being nice and handy with myself again, trying to change the oil. Now, that wasn't a problem. Getting the oil filter bloody was.

I had to call William off the forums for the first time I went to change the oil filter (Victory was his!). And when I had the first clutch change, George helped with that one.

Now, I have a mean 'grip of death' when it comes to removing stuff, but Jesus, I couldn't even make this thing budge after two hours. Ended up with arm cramps for all the trouble I took (everyone in the household was laughing, fockers).

How many of you guys have had issues taking the oil filter off ?

A large pair of multi grips will remove everytime!!!
Check your rear wheels people. Now they can be a bugger!!! they stick on the hubs pretty well.

I had trouble. I am not sure if the v6 bora's are different but they have a plastic filter cap. You need a 36mm socket to remove it. Using anything else will snap the plastic and end up costing you 60$ and the stress of waiting a day for it to come in It's all a learning curve though ! Moral of the story don't tighten things up so tight they cant come back off
