Just want to let people know that an upgrade can be done on remotes so boot function button will operate indivdually via remote control.
If any one considers upgrade due to faulty remote the may choose this option...

Reason: fix title
Covers all (Type 1J) Golf & Bora models.
Also all New Beetle models.
The biggest thing is to make sure that the remote you get is of the same frequency and generation as the remote you have.
Mine has the rounded buttons, and as such is unlikely to work with the remote above.
I recieved a second remote with the car, but it wasn't coded to the car, nor was it the right blade.
I bought a blade ($15) off e-bay, got it cut locally at ASI Locksmiths ($20), coded the remote myself ($Free lol), now, I just need to program the immoboliser with VagTacho, which I don't have, nor do I currently have access too...

My old remote for a Bora looked like the one in the pic but did not have a separate function for the boot. The round type is an accessory central locking module that integrated into the vehicle electrics which was common on golf's made by vortex not sure If you mean that type shadow rusty?, I'm aware the window roll up via remote is possible with this type but not sure about boot opening. I'll post part number if anyone needs it for the remote in the pic.
Whilst your flip key remote has square buttons, mine are rounded... Like this...

Mine was the same as yours. And it worked ok only need to code it, with boot function only the boot will unlock all doors remain locked when you close the boot it automatically locks this where you have to be careful cause if you leave the keys in the boot and close it they will be stuck inside. When I get a chance Ill post the part number of the remote.
I have a transponder, at least a second hand one, which from what I can tell should work correctly...
I just need someone with VagTacho Software/Cable, and some time/patience to code it for me...

I'm not 100% sure but it can be done without any need for any computer system, what you need is two keys one in ignition with it on reds then close door and put other key in lock barrel and as you lock key press the remote lock button and visa versa this should code the remote. This could be done on on older golf's but I've never tried it with bora. I'm sure if you search info can be found. I could help you but I'm away till weekend, cheers.
Yeah, that's how you code the remote, but I need to code the immoboliser transponder which requires either a dealer or vagtacho...
