  • driver/pasanger door handles

    i have a golf mk4 gti, recently i hit my driver door... its been fixed but now i have a problem with my handle, when i unlock the car and come to pull the handle to open the door the handle just pulls with no effect (the car is unlocked but it still doesn’t open) i really have to push the handle in hard to hear a click then it opens..... and now my passenger door does the same and its embarrassing when im taking out a girl, please help

    id just take it back and tell them to fix it...

      I think your going to have to remove the door skins to investigate. It sounds to me as though it's not cliped correctly on the inside. Thumbs down to who ever fixed your car...

        Outer handle

        Take out the lock barrel & back off the cable that goes to the lock by flicking out the plastic end of the cable thats sits in the handle. Sounds like it's been pulled to tight when refitted, so just refit it with a little slack.
